Halen was born in the 2020 lockdown which gave us some much needed time to work on our dream project; creating beautifully defined but practical and affordable, handmade accessories for our precious four-legged babies. Simply nothing existed in the local market that suited our needs exactly, so we decided to go ahead and create it ourselves.

STARTING OUT

We started by making prototype collars for Zara and Ben. In the next few months down the line we let the pups test the products quite extensively and made improvements and design changes on the products until we were happy with the final product.

We have many loyal supporters and customers who have purchased products on multiple occasions and have partnered with boutique pet shops around South Africa who stock our products. We could not have dreamed of a better outcome and are very excited that our small idea is growing into such an established brand.

Hi, we are Natacha and Christiaan – the two people behind the scenes at HALEN.

We both love dogs and have a passion for helping animals in need, this drove us to start a small (on the side) business where we can live our passion outside of our regular working environments.

We have two very adventurous pups, Zara and Ben. Zara is a two year old Giant Schnauzer who loves water and Ben a one year old Wire Haired Terrier who loves mud.
